Ms. Riley was involved in the design and development of this house from conception. It was begun within the structure of ready-made plans, and further developed into the wonderful custom family home you see here.

It is quite comfortable for the prestigious doctor and child care specialist who raise their two young children here. Kurt, their big, happy dog loves it too.

The Kitchen (Top Left) has natural cherry cabinets, a copper hood over the stove with hand painted tiles on the back-splash, and bluestone countertop. The hardwood floors and oriental rug are a beautiful contrast to the deep blue walls.

The Family Room (Top Right) is both comfortable and spacious. The fireplace surround leads in to the wool Sisal carpet, chenille upholstery and leather chair. Completed perfectly by the tray ceiling with natural Bead Board.

The Dining room (Above & Right) has a great sense of fun while remaining a respectable and serious dining room. The walls are a deep green, the ceiling is painted gold leaf and the window treatment cornice is hand painted with gold leaf accents. The built in buffet has an unusual curvilinear shape that is echoed in the chair rail (as you look down on it), and the fireplace (not shown). The buffet is custom designed and hand painted by well-known artist, William Riley. The Table and Chairs are hand made by Steven Swift.

The Foyer (Left & Above) is large and airy with an inlaid hardwood floor and custom designed balustrades (see detail above). The room is accented by an antique newel post, and antique prints going up the stairs. The mirror is an Eighteenth Century replica. The style embodies ornament of earlier periods. A lovely urn and spray of bluebell flowers make up the top crest. These details make a welcoming space for guests.
