THE INTERIOR EDGE |

The Interior Edge has been successfully designing homes and offices since 1989, due in large part to our lead designer, Joanne Riley, A.S.I.D. Ms. Riley is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She has been the Senior Designer and owner of The Interior Edge for the past ten years. The Interior Edge has offices in New York City and Hartford, Connecticut. The firm specializes in residential design from conception to completion. It provides complete interior services including: architectural drawings, floor plans and elevations, lighting plans, built-in furniture, custom furniture, specifying and purchasing furniture, fixtures, lighting, window treatments, carpets, upholstery fabrics, all interior items including the accessories and fresh flowers. Ms. Riley has also designed commercial spaces including country clubs, dentists and doctor's offices, and clothing stores. Many of her designs have been published both in the United States and internationally. Ms. Riley started out in the early 1980s in the family-owned business, Simmons Furniture. She learned as much as she could about sales, buying, management, and business before she moved on to Nassau's Furniture Company. Here she experienced the world of design and began studying Interior Design at Paier College of Art. Her next step was to work her way up to become a Senior Designer at John LaFalce, Inc. in Canton, Connecticut (LCR West Port/West Hartford). Today, as the Senior Designer at The Interior Edge, Ms. Riley's work is met with such respect that she is moving toward international design. Joanne's ties to France are well established through her partnership in the highly exclusive Parisian Antiques Importing business, Jean Cie. Ms. Riley has long believed in contributing to the community. She has acted on this conviction throughout her career as an A.S.I.D. designer, through design contributions to the Hartford Association of Retarded Citizens, membership in the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce, service on the Public Relations Committee of the American Society of Interior Designers, and through teaching Interior Design at St. Joseph's College. She has a Bachelor of Science from Lake Erie College, studied Interior Design at Paier College of Art and is an active member of the Connecticut Women's Council. Personal philosophy has a great impact on the creativity and perception that Ms. Riley brings to her designs. Interior design is an important element of one's physical and spiritual well being. If your space reflects the integration of all the elements of your well being, your time in that space will be more enjoyable. Ms. Riley focuses and interprets your dreams and needs through careful listening and the use of state of the art visualization tools. Your most inspired dreams become reality. Ms. Riley has educational credits, achievements and awards too numerous to mention. If you would like more information please contact Ms. Riley directly.
